A discussion with four of Australia’s outstanding law firm Chief Executives
The Australian Legal industry includes more than 24,000 firms employing more than 114,000 people with total revenue estimated to be $21BN. Yet there are fewer than ten women Chief Executive Officers of Law Firms. This discussion will provide timely insights for a sector seeking greater diversity and inclusion in their leadership ranks.
The discussion will be facilitated by Bronwyn Pott, CEO of Holman Webb Lawyers and Former President and Life Member of the Australasian Legal Practice Management Association (ALPMA).
Bronwyn will be joined by Riana Steyn, CEO of Bartier Perry Lawyers; Kiri Brain, CEO of TurksLegal; and Suzanne Moulis, CEO of Moulis Legal.
Areas of discussion will include unexpected surprises and successful adaptions in leadership, and the ‘wicked problems’ experienced in today’s law firm environment.
Registration is free of charge for ALPMA members and AUD $37 for non-members.
The Four CEOs are:
Bronwyn Pott, CEO, Holman Webb Lawyers
Bronwyn is a strategic thinker with a future focus and enjoys working with businesses that want to change their paradigm. She has specific experience in practice succession, management and leadership in the legal profession and the businesses that support the profession, but also has a rather eclectic portfolio of board positions.
Kiri Brain, CEO, Turks Legal
Kiri is the first non-lawyer to head TurksLegal and has a wealth of experience in professional services management and innovation. Kiri has spent more than 20 years in corporate management and five years as Chief Operating Officer at an innovative national accounting and consulting firm.
Kiri’s strong background in HR, Marketing and Operations resulted in her being awarded COO of the year for the 2019 CEO Magazine’s Executive of the Year Awards.
Riana Steyn, CEO, Bartier Perry
As CEO Riana is responsible for the firm’s overall strategic direction, client relationships and culture. She brings to the role 15 years’ senior strategic and operational leadership experience. She has previously worked in senior roles in the financial and professional services sector in Australia and internationally.
Joining Bartier Perry in late 2017, Riana’s priority is building on the firm’s successful client-centric culture.
Riana has also worked to successfully build diverse and flexible workplaces where the focus is on the best outcomes over rigid operating structures. Riana is respected for her focus on building authentic relationships at all levels, along with her ability to communicate with clarity, conviction and honesty.
Suzanne Moulis, CEO, Moulis Legal
As Moulis Legal’s chief executive, Suzanne creates the environment for her lawyers to meet clients’ and stakeholder goals. Suzanne is an experienced management professional who is well-attuned to the market and commercial issues that impact on the water, energy and resources, environment, property and construction, and transportation industries, locally and globally.
Prior to joining Moulis Legal, Suzanne was a member of the leadership team of a global professional services consulting firm, with responsibility for maintaining and increasing annual revenues.
Suzanne holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, is a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, and a University of Canberra Medalist. She is a founding member and former chair of the Property Council of Australia’s Diversity Committee, a panelist on a number of Sydney design review panels for large residential and commercial developments, and mum to an energetic nine-year-old.
