CLEAA's Annual Conference: Leading Learning in Changing Times

The Continuous Legal Education Association of Australasia’s (CLEAA) annual conference will be held online on Friday 15 October, 9-4.30pm AEDT.

CLEAA’s community comprises Legal Learning & Development Specialists, Legal Educators and Researchers, Professional Development program designers, Legal regulators and risk specialists, Coaches, Trainers and Private course providers.

The day-long event will feature six substantive one-hour sessions including:

  1. Essential Reflective Skills – The What, Why & How.

    A discussion with Jane Ching, Professor of Professional Legal Education at Nottingham Law School (UK); Michele Leering, Executive Director with the Community Advocacy & Legal Centre (CALC) in Ontario, Canada, and a Queen’s Faculty of Law PhD candidate on comparative legal education reform; and Rachel Spencer, Associate Professor and Director of Monash University’s Law Clinics.

  2. The Future Of Legal Education in the 21st Century. *

    A presentation from Daniel Goldsworthy, Deakin University Law School.

  3. The Continuing Competence Debate – The Role of Regulators.

    A discussion with Rolf Moses, Chief Executive Officer of the Queensland Law Society and Chris Humphreys, author of the Victorian Legal Services Board + Commissioner's Report into Continuing Professional Development of Lawyers in Victoria.

  4. Designing Effective Training and Getting the Most from Your L&D Budget.

    A discussion with Professor Blake McKimmie, University of Queensland; and Jennifer Moulder and Anita Falconer, Senior Instructional Designers, Level Up Learning; and Helene Breen, L&D Adviser with Thynne + Macartney Lawyers.

  5. Getting Lawyers to Eat Their Ethics Vegetables.

    A look at new strategies to embed ethical learning in practice.

Registration for members of CLEAA is AUD $149. Standard registration is AUD $249.
